Introduction

Side Quests ("the App") is developed by Cory Schneider. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App. The App does not ask you to create an account, and it does not upload your lists to a server operated by Side Quests.

Information on Your Device

• Your lists: Place names, addresses, coordinates, list names, notes, and optional photos live as files in a folder you choose. If you choose an iCloud Drive folder, Apple syncs that folder under Apple's own terms.
• Suggestions: An assistant you run can write place suggestions into that same folder. You decide which ones to keep. The App does not receive a feed of suggestions from us.
• Location: With your permission, the App uses your location on the phone to notice when you are near a saved place, to show distance and direction, and to keep a Live Activity up to date. That location stays on the device.

Other Services the App Talks To

• Apple Maps: The App asks MapKit, on your phone, to turn a place name into a pin and to open directions when you choose Apple Maps.
• Google Maps: If you share a Google Maps link, the App may request that public page so it can read the place. That request goes to Google. If you prefer Google Maps for directions, the App opens Google's app or website. Side Quests does not sit in the middle of that trip.
• Photos: If a suggestion includes an image address, the App loads that image so you can see it on the card.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not use your lists or location for advertising.
• We do not run a Side Quests account system, and we do not collect usage analytics from the App.

This Website

The website at sdqsts.com is separate from the App. If you join the newsletter, your email is collected by the form provider shown on the page (Kit) so we can send launch notes. That signup is optional and is not connected to anything stored in the App.

Your Choices

• You can deny or revoke location permission in iPhone Settings. Alerts and the compass need that permission to work.
• You can delete the App, and you can delete the folder that holds your lists. Those files are yours.

Children's Privacy

Side Quests is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date.
